I started to draw when I was at primary school where I entered a local art competition and won the under 10s category with a drawing of a caterpillar. I soon discovered that my grandad (maternal) painted oils, and my grandma (paternal) painted watercolours. I was surrounded by talent. Later I developed an obsession with Picasso‘s work aft
I started to draw when I was at primary school where I entered a local art competition and won the under 10s category with a drawing of a caterpillar. I soon discovered that my grandad (maternal) painted oils, and my grandma (paternal) painted watercolours. I was surrounded by talent. Later I developed an obsession with Picasso‘s work after a trip to the Tate Modern rather annoyingly (to my dad) I wouldn’t stop drawing Picasso style faces on every bit of paper I could find, including margins of school work or my dads paperwork. All my life I’ve been drawing, doodling, and creating, which progressed through school and college, and on to art school in Norwich. Most of my professional life has been in the creative industry as a graphic designer or visual effects artist. Since 2011 I’ve been struggling with my mental and physical health but art has always stayed with me As expression, distraction, and self care. When I found my faith in 2015 I found Church From Scratch and discovered my way of worship through creativity. I began with bible quotes and creating bible art, moved onto bible journaling, and back to individual pieces. Now in 2020 I’m setting up as an artist and making my passion my life
I use a variety of mediums in my work. From pen and ink to Procreate and an Apple Pencil, Acrylics to watercolours, lino cuts to paper cuts. I love to create and experiment with anything i can get my hands on.
